Early in life Joann learned that hard work and preparation are the best ways to ensure a positive outcome... working her way through high school, college and law school, she excelled on national debate teams by fully understanding both sides of the argument to be ready for whatever came up.​  Having gone through a painful divorce, she understands the toll the process takes on both parties ... and the children.  She makes sure that the children are always priority one and that all parties focus on what's best for them.​  With over a decade of direct family law expertise (and having been honored by Thompson Reuters as a Georgia "Super Lawyer" for the last seven years), Joann finds herself in the Rochester NY area after having relocated to help with aging family.​  Joann has the experience, the insight and the empathy to mediate your family's divorce fairly and successfully.   She founded New Leaf Mediation to help her clients let go of the past and start their new lives.​​
